There are so many toothpaste options on the market today, it is hard to know which toothpaste is the right brand for you and your family. Dr Ramya Joshua, Naperville dentist recommends you select a toothpaste with the ADA Seal of Acceptance.
The American Dental Association (ADA) has been evaluating dental products since 1931. A dental product seeking the Seal of Acceptance goes through a rigorous evaluation against the ADA Guidelines for Participation in its Seal of Acceptance Program. These guidelines and requirements outline the clinical and laboratory studies necessary to evaluate the safety and efficacy of the dental products being submitted.
Which brands have received the ADA Seal of Acceptance? Here is a partial list: Colgate, Aim, Aquafresh, Crest, Sensodyne, Quip, Burt's Bees, and Tom's.
If you are not sure what to buy, look for the ADA Seal of Acceptance that should be prominently displayed on the box or tube of toothpaste. If you have any questions about which toothpaste is right for you and your family, ask Dr Joshua. She is happy to help you make the right decision for your dental health.
